At Cathay Pacific, we understand how our social and environmental responsibilities impact the world we live in. This is why we are pleased to donate a portion of each China Experience booking to Wokai, a non-profit organization helping rural entrepreneurs in China find their own way out of poverty. And, with our Fly Greener program, participants can help offset carbon dioxide emissions from each flight with their contributions to environmental projects.

Cathay Pacific is pleased to contribute a portion of the proceeds from your China Experience booking to Wokai. "Wokai" (meaning "I Start" in Mandarin), is dedicated to helping individuals in rural China lift themselves out of poverty by empowering them to start small businesses. Wokai's microfinance platform connects individual contributors around the world directly with individual farmers and microentrepreneurs in rural China in need of small loans. By building a worldwide community of small givers supporting these entrepreneurs, Wokai's ultimate goal is to improve the living standards of China's rural inhabitants.

 

Wokai is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and has been featured in Newsweek, CNBC, MSNBC, Time.com, and the San Francisco Chronicle.

Fly Greener

 

We acknowledge the effects of greenhouse gas emissions on the climate, ecosystems and communities and recognize that aviation is a significant source of those emissions. With our FLY greener carbon offset program, participants can contribute to projects that take carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere or prevent it from being released in the first place.
