Built in 1847, Man Mo Temple is a picturesque tribute to the God of Literature ("Man") and the God of Martial Arts ("Mo"). The incense-shrouded interior makes a pleasant break from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The Ming Tombs are the resting place for 13 of the 16 Ming dynasty emperors. The Ming Tombs follow the standard architecture layout for imperial tomb design, which contains a main gate leading to courtyards, halls followed by the burial mound.
Leading to the imperial tombs, is a path called the "sacred way", which means "the path leading to the heaven". The emperor, Son of the Heaven, would return to heaven through this path.

Located north of the Forbidden City, the hill is believed to protect the imperial palace from evil spirits.
The hill is an artificial hill made by earth excavation to create the moat around the park. If you climb the hill, you can enjoy a bird's eye view of the capital and a great view over the Forbidden City.
The original palace was used as a retreat during the hot summer months for the royalty. A major portion of the palace is made up by the Kunming Lake. The palace contains court receptions, residences, temples and strolling, resting areas.
